License Plate Recognition Applications
Access Control and Security. Used to replace or assist security guards, an automated License Plate Recognition (LPR) system, in addition to a physical access control solution, can provide exclusive access to a facility. Integrated LPR software allows facility managers the ability to pre-define entry and exit regulations and level of access — such as limiting admission to certain hours or days of the week.
Law Enforcement. Available in fixed or mobile installations, License Plate Recognition systems can perform real-time processing of license plate numbers/characters and match the data against any predetermined list* including stolen vehicles, amber/silver alerts, unpaid fines, outstanding warrants, etc.
Parking Facilities. A vehicle's license plate information is transferred to an existing parking management access control system to automatically permit entry/exit to authorized members. Captured information may be used to calculate overall parking time, provide proof of parking in case of a lost ticket, or enable officials to issue fines or parking tickets.

Recent software innovations and improvements have made LPR systems much more reliable. In a majority of cases, a LPR system strongly enhances existing security systems.
